Eve Richards is both an actress and a ‘fashionista’ who empowers others to express their individuality.
Actress Eve Richards is a Los Angeles-based actor, fashion stylist and marketing professional, with a flair for fashion and a dedication for helping women to achieve a positive self image. Richards states, “Acting is a marathon, not a sprint; nothing comes easily. Despite the challenges involved, the most important aspect of my career is that it gives me an opportunity to grow exponentially as an artist and become a successful full-time working actress. During recent years, I continued training to gain experience, continue to explore a huge range of characters, and have begun to discover my inherent acting abilities, so that I can deliver compelling performances. To me, my ideal career will reflect telling inspirational stories about overcoming obstacles, and ones which evoke emotion, and make a lasting impact on audiences.”
Eve Richards discussed in a recent interview the importance of “striving to achieve a fulfilling acting career and becoming an actress who is dedicated to making a meaningful impact” in the entertainment industry, stating, “This work to me is about passionately pursuing work I love and honoring my authentic self.” Richards was born in London, England and she grew up in London, Africa, Boston and New York City. She attended St. Stephens College in Kent, England. Richards has been trained by Shari Carlson’s Acting studio in San Francisco. She is the daughter of a lawyer and a judge, both who thrived with a passion for their work, and likewise, Richards’ has a passion for her work. Eve Richards discussed the gratitude she has for her parents, who instilled in her “the importance of building community wherever she lives,” as she discussed how important it is to her that she continues to build her community in Los Angeles. She is a person who proceeds to make this world a better place. Richards’ goals for 2023 include booking a role in a feature film, and to one day be cast in a critically acclaimed film. She is also interested in commercial work and strives to book a national commercial, hoping to work as a full-time as an actress by the conclusion of 2023.
Fashion is a passion for Richards, conveying her individuality, as we all can through our own individual style, stating, “Fashion is a powerful tool for me for storytelling, expressing my personality, and taking my audience on a journey of escapism.”
Richards continued,
“Growing up, I faced a lot of insecurities about my appearance and worth. As I matured, I got to understand the significance of storytelling and how my style and clothing choices can be one element of expressing who I am. Stating, “Fashion surpasses cultural and geographical boundaries. Storytelling through fashion is helping me to reach and engage with multiple communities of people who also share both common and unique interests.”
Richards is passionate about building her online presence and states that it has been a “blessing in her life.” “Social media has revolutionized the way we can all build and nurture relationships within the industry, and it enables me, as it does all of us, to leverage online platforms to connect with industry professionals and expand my network. My personal brand provides industry decision-makers and casting professionals a simple way to find my work and to consider me for coming projects. I aim to help individuals develop realistic perceptions of their bodies and enjoy and accept who they are with confidence. Remember, beauty comes in different sizes, and there are different types of beauty, and each type of beauty is beautiful. In the acting industry, I want to educate people that it’s crucial to stay true to who you really are.”
Stating, as an encouragement to other actors, “Remember that the entertainment industry is a numbers game, meaning one great audition can change your career from an actor auditioning a lot, to one who is a full-time working actor. I believe in learning from every audition, as well as from every success, and failure. I encourage aspiring actors to not lose faith and to not get jealous of the success of colleagues, as success is beautiful for everyone – and to view every experience as a valuable lesson. Above all, I strongly emphasize the significance of maintaining strong connections with family and friends. No matter what happens, never forget your family and true friends. Regardless of the challenges and accomplishments that come my way, I’ll always cherish and value these relationships.”
When asked about her strengths as an actress Richards discussed her unwavering work ethic. “I am hard-working, and I understand the dedication and effort needed to succeed in this industry, so I’m committed to putting my time and energy in it to excel as a working actress. I’m fully aware that success doesn’t happen overnight. I have a deep passion for roles where I can bring forth a version of my authentic self, pulling from real life experiences; which of course adds authenticity to the role. Understandably, growing up in a family of lawyers, I feel a great connection to legal roles. I know that my work ethic and never give up attitude, ability to be versatile, my patience and my passion for life is a lot to my work as an actress.”
Richards states, “I hope to book a series regular role or have a recurring character role that allows me to showcase my versatility as an actress. If I had to narrow down the roles to select, I would gravitate towards the role of a high-powered lawyer, a fashion editor, a woman who overcomes adversity and a social worker. There are so many stories about equality that I would love to tell. One of the reasons I believe that I’m perfect for these types of roles is my dedication to complete character analysis and preparation.”
Richards has a passion for Aerobics, Horseback Riding, and Cycling. She is also a dancer skilled in Zumba®, swing, tango, and merengue.
Eve Richards concluded our interview by stating, “Success to me is also about maintaining healthy and supportive friendships, being empathetic to others, and being present for others who are struggling. Success also involves being able to appreciate how the creative work of artists in theater, film, and dance improves our collective lives. Moreover, success for me is having the opportunity to continue to make art that positively impacts society and brightens our days.”
